Procedural / Post ROSC Sedation — Utah 2025 Protocol

NEW 2025 — Sedation for painful procedures and post-ROSC airway management.

Steps by Cert Level

AEMT: Midazolam 2.5–5mg IV/IO/IM + Fentanyl 1mcg/kg IV/IO for procedural sedation.
PARAMEDIC: Procedural: Ketamine 1–2mg/kg IV/IO (dissociative sedation). Post-ROSC: Ketamine 0.5–1mg/kg IV/IO (lower dose).
PARAMEDIC: Midazolam 2.5–5mg IV/IO/IM as adjunct. Propofol 0.5–1mg/kg IV slow push if agency authorized.
ALL: MONITORING MANDATORY: Continuous SpO2, ETCO2, cardiac monitor, BP q5min during ALL procedural sedation.
